 Pine Tree Chapter of American Red Cross

 

The Pine Tree Chapter's free, volunteer led Red Cross disaster response and Armed Forces Emergency

programs help County residents respond to household and military emergencies.

The program called Healthy Families of Aroostook is a free, voluntary home visitation program for first

time parents and pregnant or parenting adolescents.

Hope and Justice Project

Provides direct services to victims of domestic violence, including emergency shelter, individual

advocacy, 24 hr. toll free hot line responses, crisis intervention, support groups and legal assistance.

Catholic Charities Maine independent Support Services

 

Independent Support Services in partnership with Aroostook Home Health Services provides

homemaking services to elders and adults with disability in all of Aroostook County's communities.

Catholic Charities Maine Home Supplies and Food Bank

Provides food for 21 food pantries and offers building materials, furniture, appliances and

household items to low income resients at a fraction of their cost.

Provides services to people with Developmental Disabilities and Mental Retardation,has a

variety of programs from pre-school through adult from day treatment to residential and

Arranges safe and caring relationships between at-risk youth and responsible, trained role

Provides food to individuals and families with temporary unmet nutritional needs, on a

A program that provides small 0% interest loans to people with very limited resources to

meet their basic needs, such as heating, utilities and repairs.

Provides shelter to individuals and families in need and promotes empowerment through clear

expectations. Also Transitional Housing Program helps families go from homelessness to self sufficiency.

Meals on Wheels (AAAA)

Meals on Wheels provides nutritionally balanced meals to homebound older people and some younger

disabled people who are unable to prepare meals for themselves.

Ryan's Heart

The program called Neighborhood Hearts provides a 10-week grief support for children and

their families or caregivers who are experiencing the death of a loved one.

Reitred & Senior Volunteer Program

Volunteers 55 years or older provide social and health servcies where necessary and are an

advocate to assure that the rights of older people are secured and respected.

Salvation Army - Houlton Corps

Provides emergency food, overnight shelter, clothing, counseling and referral to those in

need of assistance. Also rent/mortgage and utility assistance provided as governmental and private

funds are available.

life skills and adult roles to maximize individual capability and personal independence for
